Workshop “Quiet Presence: A Painting Workshop” / Lada Verbina
On Thursday, June 18 at 6:30 PM, as part of the public programme accompanying the exhibition “Joy,” we invite you to a workshop with Lada Verbina, where participants will create their own interpretations of natural forms through painting.
The event will take place on the 5th floor in the education room at PinchukArtCentre. Recommended age: 16+. Free admission with prior registration. Places are limited. Duration: 1.5 hours.
Inspired by the works of Kateryna Aliinyk and Julian Charrière, this workshop invites reflection on the experience of presence and the quiet cycles of nature. Beyond fragile human joy, there is something older and wider than our experience — earth, minerals, time. Through painting, including the use of natural pigments, we will explore this quiet encounter with the world — and the simple joy of being present.
The workshop will be led by Lada Verbina — an artist working primarily with painting and graphics, who also engages with object-based practice. Her work focuses on the local mythology of Podillia, belonging to place, and making oneself visible within it. Her works have been shown at PinchukArtCentre (Kyiv, Ukraine), Ukrainian House (Kyiv, Ukraine), thesteinstudio (Kyiv, Ukraine), depot 12_59 (Kyiv, Ukraine), 91 Galerie (Frankfurt, Germany), Milvus Artistic Research Center (Knislinge, Sweden), and elsewhere.
