PinchukArtCentre Announces 20 Nominees for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2025
PinchukArtCentre announces the artists shortlisted for the 8th edition of the PinchukArtCentre Prize, a nationwide prize in contemporary art for young Ukrainian artists aged 35 or younger.
The PinchukArtCentre announced the names of the Selection Committee members who will nominate 20 artists for shortlist of the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2013. This is 3rd edition of the first privately funded nationwide prize in contemporary art biannually awarded to Ukrainian artists up to 35.
This year’s Selection Committee includes Oksana Barshynova, Head of the research Department of the 20th and early 21st Century Art in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (NAMU); Kateryna Botanova, Director of CSM (Foundation Center for Contemporary Art), Chief-editor of the on-line art magazine Korydor; Björn Geldhof, Deputy Artistic Director of the PinchukArtCentre; Arsen Savadov, artist; Kateryna Stukalova, Chief Editor of the ART UKRAINE magazine; Tetiana Tumasian, Director of Kharkiv City Gallery; Eckhard Schneider, General Director of the PinchukArtCentre.
After the application procedure, ending on April 28, the Selection Committee will consider applications submitted for the competition and nominate a final shortlist of 20 artists that will be announced in June.
Eckhard Schneider, General Director of the PinchukArtCentre: “Following our success with the international award - Future Generation Art Prize, we have also increased the number of the national prize Selection Committee members from 5 to 7 experts. We have managed to achieve a representation of the most competent specialists from different areas of contemporary art - curators, art critics, and artists from different regions of Ukraine. I am sure that it will make the process of selection even more objective, competent and exciting.”
On-line submission of works for the competition is ongoing at prize.pinchukartcentre.org until April 28, 2013.
The exhibition of the nominees will open at the PinchukArtCentre on October 26, 2013 and will last till January 5, 2014.
The winners of the Main and Special Prizes will be awarded by the International Jury of PinchukArtCentre Prize in December 2013. The winner of the Public Choice Prize will be determined by voting of the visitors attending the exhibition.
